CJP spokesperson Saurabh Das and co‑organiser Ashutosh Ranka, joined by Pappu Yadav, Chandrashekhar and other party members, reached Parliament Street police station in Delhi on Thursday to stage a dharna demanding action in the Nishu Azad case.
On Thursday, senior figures of the Cooch Behar Janata Party (CJP) arrived at the Parliament Street police station in Delhi. Spokesperson Saurabh Das and co‑organiser Ashutosh Ranka were accompanied by veteran politicians Pappu Yadav, Chandrashekhar and several other party workers.
The group gathered outside the station to launch a dharna, pressing authorities to take decisive steps in the ongoing Nishu Azad case, which has drawn political attention across the capital.
While no formal statements were read aloud, the presence of the leaders signalled the party’s intent to keep the matter in the public eye and to urge the police to expedite investigations.
Police officials allowed the protest to continue without immediate interference, noting that the demonstrators were maintaining order and had not obstructed station operations.
The dharna is expected to continue until the party receives a satisfactory response from the investigating agencies regarding the allegations linked to the Nishu Azad incident.
