BJP MP Dinesh Sharma Named Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands

The central government has announced the appointment of BJP MP Dinesh Sharma as the Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Sharma will take over from Admiral D K Joshi (retired), who had held the post since October 8, 2017. The Lieutenant Governor serves as the representative of the President in the Union Territory, overseeing administration and coordinating with the elected government. Sharma’s appointment is part of the central administration’s effort to maintain continuity in the governance of the islands.
