After voting concluded in Banswara’s 59 municipal wards, the BJP finalized security measures for its candidates and left by bus to an undisclosed venue, while the Congress readied its own campaign.
On Thursday, voting wrapped up in all 59 wards of the Banswala municipal council in Rajasthan. Following the completion of the poll, the Bharatiya Janata Party announced that it had finished the "badaabandi" – a term used locally for securing or finalising arrangements – for each of its municipal candidates.
The party’s officials said the process involved setting up necessary security and logistical support for the candidates ahead of the next phase of the election cycle. After the arrangements were in place, the BJP team boarded a bus and departed for a location that was not disclosed to the media.
Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress, the main opposition, indicated that it is also preparing its own strategy for the upcoming stages, signalling a competitive environment in the local political landscape.
The developments come as both parties gear up for the final counting and declaration of results for the Banswara municipal council, a contest that will shape local governance in the district.
Local observers note that the swift completion of security measures reflects the high stakes attached to the municipal elections in the region.
