New Delhi, Sept 30 — The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) publicly accused the Indian National Congress of backtracking on its earlier position regarding the revision of electoral rolls. In a statement released on Tuesday, BJP leaders described the shift as a "politics of convenience" aimed at influencing upcoming elections.
According to the BJP, the Congress had previously supported a comprehensive clean‑up of voter lists to eliminate duplicate and ineligible entries, but has now signaled a reversal, citing concerns over disenfranchisement.
