A 200-year-old idol of Lord Ram was stolen from a temple in Bihar. The thieves also took gold and silver ornaments.
A historic temple in Bihar's Samastipur district has been robbed of its priceless idols and ornaments. The 200-year-old idols of Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman were made of ashtadhatu, a rare and valuable metal alloy. The thieves struck at the 24 Avtar Dham Chakothi Math temple in Khanpur, making off with the idols and gold and silver ornaments. The temple administration has estimated the loss to be around Rs 1.5 crore.
