Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav told media that the coalition arrangement for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh polls will remain exactly as it was before the talks with allies.

Delhi – Speaking to reporters, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav said that after consultations with its regional partners, the party’s alliance for the Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly election will not undergo any changes. He emphasized that the coalition will stay "exactly as it was before" the recent discussions. Yadav’s remarks come as parties across the state are finalising seat-sharing formulas ahead of the 2024 polls. No new partners were announced, and the statement suggests a continuity strategy aimed at consolidating the party’s traditional voter base. The comment was recorded by Devdiscourse during a brief press interaction.

The Samajwadi Party has been in talks with several smaller regional outfits to lock in a joint contest strategy. While details of the negotiations remain undisclosed, Yadav’s assurance signals that any existing agreements will be honoured. Political analysts view the stance as an attempt to project stability and avoid internal rifts before the crucial election phase.

Observers note that maintaining the status quo could help the party focus on its core issues and campaign messaging, rather than getting entangled in protracted alliance reshuffles. The upcoming election is expected to be fiercely contested, with multiple national and regional parties vying for power in the state.
