On the final day of Punjab’s special legislative session, AAP and Congress lawmakers engaged in a heated verbal confrontation outside the assembly, with MLA Parag Singh stepping in to calm the situation.
Punjab, Oct 27 (Reuters) – As the special session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly concluded today, a face‑to‑face confrontation erupted outside the assembly complex between members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Indian National Congress. The two groups exchanged sharp words, turning a routine gathering into a heated verbal clash.
Witnesses said several legislators from both parties approached each other in the assembly’s outer precincts, raising voices and pointing fingers. Amid the escalating tension, MLA Parag Singh moved between the factions, raising his hands in an attempt to defuse the dispute and restore order.
Security personnel soon intervened, and the confrontation subsided without any physical altercation. The incident occurred as the assembly wrapped up its special session, which had been convened to discuss pending state matters. No injuries were reported, and the day ended with the assembly adjourned as scheduled.
