Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to align proposed bullet train corridors with the state's tourism potential and future economic growth centres. The focus is on integrating key tourist destinations and emerging urban hubs into the route planning.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday emphasized the strategic alignment of proposed bullet train corridors in Telangana with the state's tourism assets and future economic growth centres. During a review of the Hyderabad–Pune and Hyderabad–Bengaluru high-speed rail projects, sanctioned in the Union Budget 2026–27, Reddy directed officials to ensure station locations and route planning actively support key tourist destinations and emerging urban hubs.
For the Hyderabad–Pune corridor, specific instructions were given to establish a station near Ananthagiri Hills, with a directive for seamless transport connectivity to Hyderabad's IT corridor. The Chief Minister also proposed developing Hyderabad, particularly Shamshabad, into a major bullet train hub.
Regarding the Hyderabad–Bengaluru project, Reddy called for a station in Bharat Future City. Additionally, he suggested new stations near Mannanur in the Nallamala Forest region and close to Somasila, reinforcing the need to consider tourism development in the railway alignment.
In a separate discussion, the Chief Minister reviewed designs for the planned Warangal airport, stressing that its architecture should reflect the heritage of the Kakatiya Dynasty. He proposed incorporating elements showcasing the Kakatiya Empire's legacy, including statues of Rani Rudrama Devi and Rudradeva, and a large Nandi sculpture. Discussions with the Airports Authority of India in New Delhi were also mandated for the airport's design and development plans.
