Police officials reported that a youth who had publicly opposed drug consumption was assaulted with a sharp weapon in the Madi Pannwan locality of Batala, Punjab. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while two additional persons were left with serious wounds.
According to the initial investigation, the assailants approached the victim shortly after he voiced his anti‑drug stance and used a bladed instrument to inflict fatal injuries. Emergency services were called, but the victim could not be revived.
