Manganu Yadav, a young man from Luwani village in Darbhanga district, was killed while checking his fields and his body was discovered hidden in bushes beneath a bridge, prompting locals to block the Benipur‑Baheri highway.
Manganu Yadav travelled to his farmland in Luwani, a village under Bahera police station in Darbhanga district, to inspect the crops. While at the site, he was attacked and killed, according to local reports.
His body was later recovered from dense bushes located beneath a nearby bridge. Investigators also found his sandal and mobile phone at the field, indicating the victim had been present there before the assault.
The discovery sparked outrage among villagers, who gathered at the scene and obstructed traffic on the Benipur‑Baheri State Highway as a form of protest.
Police were alerted to the incident and have begun an investigation into the murder, while the highway blockage remains in place pending further action.
