Yingkiong, Arunachal Pradesh, has been placed on high alert after local authorities warned of possible anti-dam protests that could disrupt the town’s routine.
Yingkiong, a town in Arunachal Pradesh, was placed on high alert early this week after officials received intelligence about potential anti-dam protests.
The unrest is linked to a proposed dam project that has drawn criticism from local communities concerned about environmental and displacement impacts.
In response, the state police increased their presence, set up checkpoints at key entry points, and advised residents to avoid public gatherings.
No major incidents have been reported yet, but authorities remain vigilant as the situation develops.
