A massive Hanuman Gada, touted as the world’s largest, is being built at Salasar Dham in Rajasthan, with plans to house the planet’s biggest letter box for devotees to send prayers to Lord Ram.
Salasar Dham, a prominent pilgrimage centre in Rajasthan’s Churu district, has launched an unprecedented project to erect the world’s largest Hanuman Gada. The initiative, driven by local religious committees and supported by the state tourism department, aims to create a towering symbol of devotion that will dominate the skyline of the holy site.
The Gada, which is expected to exceed 100 feet in height, is being fabricated using reinforced steel and bronze cladding to ensure durability against the region’s harsh climate. Artisans and engineers from across the state have been mobilised, and the structure is slated for completion by the end of the next calendar year.
Inside the massive Gada, organisers plan to install what they claim will be the largest letter box in the world. The box is designed to receive up to one crore letters addressed to Lord Ram, allowing devotees from across India to send their prayers and wishes in a single, collective offering.
Officials anticipate that the monument will boost religious tourism, drawing thousands of pilgrims and tourists to Salasar Dham annually. The influx is expected to generate significant economic benefits for local businesses, including hotels, eateries, and handicraft vendors.
The project’s progress is being monitored by the Rajasthan Department of Culture, which has promised regular updates and has invited media coverage at key milestones, underscoring the state’s commitment to preserving and promoting its spiritual heritage.
