A mental‑health sensitization programme was organised on World Mental Health Day in Arunachal Pradesh, aiming to raise awareness about psychological well‑being.

On October 10, the globally observed World Mental Health Day was marked in Arunachal Pradesh with a dedicated sensitization programme. The event, coordinated by local health authorities together with non‑governmental organisations, featured expert talks, interactive workshops and the distribution of pamphlets on stress management, depression and suicide prevention.

The primary objective of the programme was to demystify mental‑health issues and encourage community members to seek professional help without stigma. Organisers highlighted that early awareness can significantly reduce the burden of mental disorders in the region, where access to specialised care remains limited.

Participants, including school teachers, community leaders and youth groups, engaged actively in the sessions and pledged to disseminate the information further within their networks. Officials said the initiative will be followed by regular outreach activities throughout the year to sustain momentum on mental‑health advocacy.
