A woman was murdered by her father and brother, who struck her head with a hammer, after a video of her with a male friend was deemed dishonourable.
A woman was found dead in her home after her father and brother struck her head with a hammer, an act that authorities say was motivated by a perceived loss of family honour following a video of her with a male friend.
The incident was reported to the local police, who confirmed that the victim was killed by her own family members. Investigators are treating the case as a criminal homicide and have detained the father and brother on charges of murder.
The case has drawn attention to the continuing problem of honour killings in parts of India, where family members may resort to violence to enforce social norms. Law enforcement officials have urged communities to report such incidents promptly to prevent further tragedies.
Legal proceedings are expected to begin soon, with the accused facing serious charges under the Indian Penal Code for murder. The authorities have pledged a thorough investigation and swift justice for the victim.
