Delhi police were moving a bus loaded with detainees through Jantar Mantar on Saturday when a local woman stepped in and forced the vehicle to stop. Witnesses said the woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, raised concerns about the legality of the transport and physically blocked the bus's path, leading officers to engage in a brief dialogue.
The incident drew a small crowd of onlookers and prompted nearby police units to arrive for crowd control. After a few minutes, officials escorted the woman away and resumed the bus's journey, citing procedural compliance. No injuries were reported, and the detainees continued to their destination without further interruption.
Authorities have not released an official statement regarding the woman's motives or any subsequent legal action. The episode highlights ongoing public sensitivity to police operations in high‑visibility areas of the capital.
