Westland Books to Publish Sanjoy Hazarika’s ‘Lal Thanhawla’, Tracing Mizoram’s Peace Journey

Westland Books disclosed that it will publish Sanjoy Hazarika’s forthcoming title, “Lal Thanhawla”. The announcement was made through the publisher’s official channels, confirming that the book will be added to its catalogue later this year.

The work chronicles the life of Lal Thanhawla, a key figure in Mizoram’s political history, and maps the state’s transition from insurgency to sustained peace. Hazarika draws on archival material, interviews with senior leaders and on‑the‑ground observations to present a detailed narrative of the negotiations that ended decades of conflict.
