West Bengal's government will launch a fresh industrial policy ahead of Diwali, aiming to simplify land acquisition and offer clear incentives for investors, the chief minister said.

The state government of West Bengal announced that a revised industrial policy will be presented before the upcoming Diwali festival. The policy is designed to address long‑standing concerns of investors by ensuring a transparent framework for land allocation and by outlining specific fiscal incentives.

According to the chief minister, the new guidelines will eliminate opaque procedures that have previously delayed project approvals. Clear criteria for land acquisition, along with a single‑window clearance system, are expected to speed up the establishment of manufacturing units and ancillary industries.

The government also plans to introduce incentive packages that target sectors such as electronics, renewable energy, and high‑value manufacturing. By aligning the rollout with Diwali, officials hope to signal a business‑friendly environment and attract both domestic and foreign capital before the year‑end.

Industry bodies have welcomed the move, noting that predictability in land and tax matters is crucial for long‑term investment decisions. The policy document is slated for public release within the next few weeks, followed by a detailed briefing for potential investors.
