North Karnataka is experiencing a sudden increase in weevil populations affecting crops. Experts attribute the surge to changing climatic conditions.
Reports from North Karnataka indicate a noticeable rise in weevil activity across the region. Farmers and agricultural officials have observed the insects damaging standing crops and stored produce.
Experts studying the phenomenon say the surge correlates with recent shifts in temperature and rainfall patterns, which create favorable conditions for weevil breeding.
Authorities are monitoring the situation and advising farmers on preventive measures to limit further spread of the pest.
