Counting of votes has begun for the Nagaon Lok Sabha seat following the Assam by‑poll. Election officials oversee the process at designated counting centres.
The counting process commenced as per the schedule fixed by the Election Commission of India. Officials have sealed the electronic voting machines and are now tabulating the votes in the presence of candidates' agents.
Observers and security personnel are stationed at the counting centres to ensure a transparent and peaceful exercise. Any discrepancies are being recorded and addressed according to protocol.
The outcome of this by‑poll will determine the representative for the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency, which fell vacant earlier this year. The final tally is expected once all rounds of counting are completed.
