In a Mid‑Day interview, veteran shooting community figure Vishwajeet Shinde highlighted Nana’s deep love for the sport and his genuine concern for the athletes he mentored.
Veteran shooting community stalwart Vishwajeet Shinde spoke to Mid‑Day about the lasting impact of a figure known simply as Nana. Shinde emphasized that Nana’s enthusiasm for shooting extended far beyond personal interest; he was deeply invested in the welfare and development of the shooters around him.
According to Shinde, Nana’s approach combined a genuine love for the sport with a nurturing attitude, often providing guidance, encouragement, and practical support to emerging talent. This blend of passion and mentorship, he said, helped create a supportive environment that allowed many athletes to pursue shooting more seriously.
Shinde’s remarks come as a reminder of the often‑unseen contributions that dedicated individuals make to Indian sports. By caring for shooters on and off the range, Nana left a legacy that, as Shinde put it, “transcends his own love for shooting.”
