Vijay’s ‘Om Sakthi’ Slogan Faces DMK’s ‘Om Kali’ Counter in Tamil Nadu

The rivalry between Vijay’s Tamil Maanila Kazhagam (TVK) and the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has taken a new turn with the launch of a slogan war. TVK’s campaign team unveiled the chant ‘Om Sakthi’, invoking the goddess of power, as part of its election outreach. In response, DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin has introduced the counter‑slogan ‘Om Kali’, a reference to the fierce goddess of destruction. Both slogans are being used in rallies, social media posts and campaign posters across the state. Analysts say the exchange is aimed at energising the parties’ core supporters ahead of the upcoming state elections, though its long‑term effect on voter sentiment remains to be seen.
