India’s Vibrant Villages Programme is turning remote border villages from ‘last villages’ into ‘first villages’, reshaping the country’s frontier.
The Vibrant Villages Programme, a new government initiative, focuses on the transformation of remote border communities. By reclassifying these settlements from ‘last villages’ to ‘first villages’, the scheme aims to bring them into the national development fold. The programme is part of a broader effort to strengthen India’s border frontier through targeted development.
