VFS Global has inaugurated its maiden visa application centre in Guwahati, Assam, which will process applications for 14 designated countries.
VFS Global, the outsourced visa‑processing firm, officially opened a new visa application centre in Guwahati, Assam. The centre marks the company’s first facility in the northeastern region and will cater to applicants from 14 partner nations.
The Guwahati centre will handle document submission, biometric capture and forwarding of applications to the respective embassies and consulates, aiming to streamline processing times and reduce the need for travelers to visit distant cities.
Officials said the launch aligns with the government’s push to facilitate overseas travel and boost tourism and business links in the northeast. The centre will serve both Indian residents and foreign nationals seeking visas for the listed countries.
Details of the 14 countries have not been disclosed, but authorities expect the new hub to enhance regional economic activity.
