Actors Roger Howarth and Beth Maitland, both long‑time daytime‑TV veterans, secured Daytime Emmy awards this year, marking their first wins in decades.
At the recent Daytime Emmy Awards, veteran soap‑opera performers Roger Howarth and Beth Maitland were among the evening’s honorees. Both actors have been fixtures of daytime television for many years and this ceremony marked a rare return to the winners’ podium for each of them.
Howarth, best known for his long‑running role on "One Life to Live," received the award in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category. His first Daytime Emmy came more than twenty years ago, making this win a notable comeback after a long interval.
Beth Maitland, celebrated for her portrayal of Traci Abbott on "The Young and the Restless," was recognized in the Outstanding Lead Actress category. Like Howarth, she last won an Emmy decades earlier, and her latest accolade underscores her enduring presence on the genre.
The dual victories highlight the lasting impact of seasoned performers in daytime drama and illustrate how the Academy continues to honor long‑standing contributions to the medium.
