Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami met Union Minister Chouhan to request central clearance for expanding rural roads in Uttarakhand.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami held a meeting with Union Minister Chouhan to discuss the state's request for central approval of a rural road expansion programme. The discussion centred on securing funding and clearances needed to widen and construct new roads that connect remote villages to main highways.
Dhami highlighted that improved rural connectivity is crucial for boosting local economies, facilitating tourism, and ensuring timely delivery of essential services. He urged the Union minister to expedite the approval process under existing central schemes for rural infrastructure.
Minister Chouhan acknowledged the importance of the project and said the request will be examined by the relevant central authorities. He assured that the government remains committed to enhancing rural road networks across the country.
If the approval is granted, Uttarakhand expects an allocation of central funds that will accelerate the implementation of the road projects, potentially transforming transport conditions for thousands of residents in the hilly state.
