The Uttarakhand government has approved a ₹227 crore package to upgrade infrastructure for the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Haridwar. The funds will be used for constructing and repairing roads, expanding parking areas, and enhancing police stations to manage the expected influx of pilgrims. The decision was announced by Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat during a press briefing on Monday. Officials said the project will be completed ahead of the 2024 Kumbh Mela, ensuring safety and smooth movement of visitors. The allocation reflects the state’s commitment to improving public amenities in anticipation of the large-scale religious event.
