Uttarakhand senior BJP leader Yashpal Benam publicly announced his departure from the party on Thursday. The resignation was submitted after a meeting with senior party officials, according to sources close to the leader.
Benam said he felt sidelined and ignored by the party hierarchy, a sentiment he expressed in a brief statement released to the media. He added that the lack of engagement left him with no option but to quit.
Political analysts note that Benam's exit could affect the BJP's internal dynamics in the state, but no further details on his future political plans were disclosed.
