The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association has shortlisted former players Pandey and Tyagi as candidates for upcoming senior coaching roles, signaling a revamp of its coaching staff.
The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) is reportedly evaluating two former state players, Pandey and Tyagi, for senior coaching vacancies within its structure. Both men have extensive playing experience in domestic circuits and have been involved in grassroots coaching programs over the past few years.
Sources close to the board say the selection process is underway, with the candidates undergoing formal assessments and interviews. The move comes as the UPCA seeks to strengthen its coaching cadre ahead of the upcoming domestic season and to improve the performance of its age‑group teams.
If appointed, Pandey and Tyagi would join a coaching panel that already includes specialists for batting, bowling and fielding. The association hopes that their on‑field experience will translate into better mentorship for emerging talent in the state.
The board has not disclosed a timeline for final decisions, but officials indicated that announcements could be made before the start of the next Ranji Trophy campaign.
