Lucknow, Sept 3 — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a multi‑pronged initiative aimed at boosting employment and skill development for the state’s youth. The plan earmarks 9.5 lakh government vacancies to be filled over the next few years, targeting fresh graduates and entry‑level candidates.
In parallel, the government will establish a network of PM‑SHRI (Shiksha, Health, Rural, Innovation) schools that will combine academic curricula with vocational training, ensuring that students acquire job‑ready skills before completing their schooling.
The scheme also includes the creation of Atal Innovation Labs in selected districts, providing state‑of‑the‑art infrastructure for research, entrepreneurship and technology incubation. Officials said the labs will be linked with existing universities and industry partners to foster a culture of innovation.
Yogi emphasized that the coordinated effort is designed to curb unemployment, curb migration to other states and position Uttar Pradesh as a hub for skilled manpower. The rollout is slated to begin in the upcoming fiscal year, with periodic reviews to monitor progress.
