Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a digital transformation for villages, aiming to remove the distance hurdle that has long limited access to education in rural areas.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state will embark on a comprehensive digital facelift for its villages, a move intended to eliminate the physical distance that has traditionally hampered rural students from accessing quality education.
The initiative will focus on extending high‑speed broadband connectivity to remote habitations, setting up e‑learning hubs equipped with smart classrooms, and deploying government‑approved digital curricula that can be accessed on low‑cost devices.
Officials indicated that the rollout will begin with pilot projects in selected districts, with the aim of scaling up across the state within the next few years. The government expects that improved digital infrastructure will enable students to attend virtual classes, access online libraries, and participate in interactive learning without having to travel long distances to urban centers.
Education department sources added that teacher training programs will run in parallel to ensure educators can effectively use the new technology, thereby enhancing overall learning outcomes for rural pupils.
