U.S. senators have introduced a temporary funding measure to keep federal agencies operational until December 11, averting a potential government shutdown.
U.S. senators have unveiled a bipartisan stopgap bill designed to keep the federal government running until December 11, thereby averting a looming shutdown.
The measure would temporarily extend funding for all federal agencies, allowing them to continue operations while lawmakers work on a longer‑term appropriations plan.
Both parties in the Senate have expressed support for the proposal, citing the need to protect essential services and federal employees from the disruptions a shutdown would cause.
If passed, the bill would provide a short‑term reprieve, giving Congress additional time to negotiate a comprehensive budget before the December deadline.
