U.S. Senator Marco Rubio announced that the United States and India are close to concluding a trade agreement, ahead of his upcoming visit.
U.S. Senator Marco Rubio stated that the United States and India are very close to finalising a trade deal during a press briefing ahead of his scheduled visit.
The senator highlighted that the agreement would remove several trade barriers and expand market access for both countries, potentially boosting bilateral trade which was valued at over $200 billion in 2023.
Industry analysts say the deal could open new opportunities for Indian exporters in the U.S. market and provide American firms with greater access to India’s growing consumer base.
Rubio added that both sides are working through the final details and expect to sign the agreement during his visit, marking a significant step in Indo‑American economic ties.
