Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa ordered the deactivation of ECINET login IDs used by voter‑registration centre operators following an inquiry into irregularities in the Pilibhit roll.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa has taken decisive action to curb alleged irregularities in the voter registration process in Pilibhit district. He directed that all ECINET login credentials used by operators at voter‑registration centres across the state be immediately deactivated.
The move follows an internal inquiry that uncovered suspicious activity linked to an outsourced computer assistant, who has since been terminated from service. The investigation suggested that the individual may have facilitated unauthorized changes to the electoral roll.
District election officers have been instructed to confirm the shutdown of the identified logins and to ensure that the integrity of the voter roll management system is restored ahead of upcoming elections.
