Shivraj Singh Chouhan will hold a dialogue with Goan farmers today, focusing on agricultural concerns and policy measures.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan arrived in Goa to engage directly with the state's farming community. The minister's itinerary includes a series of interactions aimed at understanding the challenges faced by local cultivators. Officials said the meeting will cover topics such as crop insurance, market access and upcoming government schemes.
The dialogue is part of a broader effort by the central government to address agrarian distress and to gather feedback for refining policy interventions. Representatives from farmer unions and agricultural extension services are expected to present their concerns and suggestions.
While no specific announcements were made prior to the meeting, observers anticipate that the minister may outline steps to improve credit facilities and strengthen supply chains for Goa's key produce, including rice, cashew and horticultural crops.
