Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate Amul’s new dairy processing plant in Telangana on October 4, marking the cooperative’s latest expansion in the state.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to cut the ribbon for Amul’s newly built dairy processing facility in Telangana on October 4. The ceremony will be held at the plant site, which is part of Amul’s strategic push to increase its processing capacity in South India.
The Telangana plant is expected to handle several thousand metric tonnes of milk annually, bolstering the supply chain for local dairy farmers and creating direct and indirect employment opportunities in the region. Amul officials say the unit will also introduce advanced pasteurisation and packaging technologies to improve product quality.
State authorities have welcomed the project, noting its potential to raise farmer incomes and contribute to the state’s goal of expanding the dairy sector. The inauguration will be attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and the Telangana government.
Amit Shah’s presence underscores the central government’s support for cooperative enterprises and the broader agenda of strengthening agricultural value‑addition across the country.
