UNICEF and the Gavi alliance have agreed to cut the price of the Mosquirix malaria vaccine by 40% to boost child immunisation worldwide.

UNICEF and the global vaccine alliance Gavi have jointly announced a 40% reduction in the price of Mosquirix, the first malaria vaccine approved for use in children.

The price cut is intended to increase accessibility of the vaccine in low‑income countries and strengthen children’s resistance to malaria.

By lowering costs, the partners aim to accelerate immunisation programmes and improve public health outcomes in regions most affected by the disease.

The agreement reflects a coordinated effort to enhance child health and reduce malaria‑related mortality worldwide.
