A new 633‑meter, 21.4‑meter wide four‑lane bridge is set to open in Ujjain, providing a service road beneath it and easing congestion at the Tower Chowk junction.

A 633‑meter long, 21.4‑meter wide four‑lane bridge is slated to open in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, after extensive construction work. The bridge, costing ₹91.76 crore, will feature a service road beneath it, allowing vehicles to move quickly while the main traffic flows above.

Both sides of the bridge will have 9‑meter wide roads, pedestrian footpaths, and a central divider, ensuring safe and efficient traffic management. The project was designed with future infrastructure plans in mind, aligning with the city’s long‑term development goals.

Officials say the new bridge will significantly reduce traffic congestion at the busy Tower Chowk intersection, a major bottleneck in the city. With the service road operational, commuters should experience smoother travel times and fewer delays.

The bridge’s construction is part of a broader effort to modernise Ujjain’s road network and improve connectivity across the region. Local authorities have urged residents to use the new route as soon as it opens to help disperse traffic from congested areas.

The project’s completion marks a milestone in Ujjain’s urban development, showcasing the city’s commitment to infrastructure upgrades and public safety.
