Two women attacked with sharp weapon near Bihar‑West Bengal border, one dead

In Baharsal Diyar of Katihar's Ahmedabad police area, unknown assailants assaulted two women with a sharp weapon, killing one and critically injuring the other, who is now receiving treatment in Malda.
Police officials reported that a violent incident occurred in the village of Baharsal Diyar, located in the Ahmedabad police jurisdiction of Katihar district, close to the West Bengal border. Unidentified individuals approached two women and assaulted them with a sharp-edged weapon.
One of the victims succumbed to her injuries at the scene, while the second woman sustained serious wounds. She was immediately transported to a hospital in Malda, West Bengal, where she remains under intensive care.
The Katihar district police have launched an investigation, registering a case of murder and attempted murder. Officers are canvassing the area for witnesses and have appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the perpetrators.
