Police in Amritsar have detained two individuals after seizing five kilograms of heroin.
Amritsar police announced the arrest of two suspects after a raid that yielded five kilograms of heroin. The operation, carried out by the city’s narcotics control unit, resulted in the immediate detention of the accused and the confiscation of the drug shipment.
The seized heroin, weighing roughly five kilograms, is believed to be part of a larger trafficking network that uses the Punjab region as a transit corridor. Authorities have not disclosed the exact location of the bust, but confirmed that the quantity is significant for a single seizure in the area.
Investigators are now interrogating the two detainees to uncover further links in the supply chain. The police have indicated that additional arrests may follow as the probe progresses, and the case will be forwarded to the court for formal charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
