Chhattisgarh police announced the arrest of two individuals in connection with a large-scale cannabis seizure. The operation, carried out by the state's narcotics control unit, resulted in the confiscation of marijuana valued at approximately Rs 2.20 crore.
Authorities said the seized cannabis was recovered during a raid on a location suspected of being a distribution hub. Preliminary assessments by forensic experts placed the street value of the drug at the stated amount.
The police spokesperson confirmed that the two detainees are being held for further interrogation and will face charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. No additional arrests or related incidents were reported at the time of the statement.
