Mizoram police seized a truck loaded with 550 bags of urea and detained one individual suspected of involvement.
Mizoram police intercepted a truck transporting 550 bags of urea during a routine check, seizing the entire consignment. The seizure took place in the state’s border district, where officials suspect the fertilizer was being moved without proper authorization.
The confiscated urea, a key agricultural input, is often subject to strict regulation to prevent hoarding and illegal resale. Authorities said the volume seized could have significantly impacted local markets if diverted to the black market.
One person associated with the truck was taken into custody for further questioning. The police have launched an investigation to determine whether the shipment violated state or central regulations governing the distribution of fertilisers.
