Tripura to Establish Dedicated Health University, says CM Manik Saha

Chief Minister Manik Saha disclosed that the state government will create a new health university in Tripura, marking a significant step toward strengthening the region's medical education infrastructure. The announcement was delivered during a press briefing broadcast on Akashvani (All India Radio).\n\nThe proposed university is intended to consolidate various health‑related courses under a single institution, offering undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes in medicine, nursing, pharmacy and allied health sciences. Officials expect the university to attract students from across the Northeast and improve the quality of healthcare services by producing well‑trained professionals.\n\nWhile detailed timelines were not disclosed, the government indicated that the university will be established in the coming months, with plans to seek necessary approvals and allocate land and funding. Stakeholders, including existing medical colleges, have been invited to contribute to the university's curriculum design and governance structure.
