Tripura’s transport minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced a renewed review of SASCI projects aimed at speeding up the state’s transport infrastructure development.
Tripura’s transport ministry said it will intensify its review of the SASCI projects, a set of schemes aimed at improving the state’s road and rail connectivity. Minister Sushanta Chowdhury told reporters that the review will identify bottlenecks and fast‑track pending works to meet the growing demand for efficient transport links.
The state government plans to streamline approvals, allocate additional funds and coordinate with central agencies to ensure that the projects are completed on schedule. Chowdhury emphasized that quicker execution will boost trade, tourism and overall economic activity in the region.
Officials indicated that the revised timeline could see several key stretches of highway and railway lines operational within the next two years, subject to regular monitoring and periodic reporting to the chief minister’s office.
