Tripura Police has kicked off a 3,000‑kilometre motorcycle rally that will travel to Gujarat, aiming to raise awareness about drug abuse across the country.
Tripura Police officials today flagged off a 3,000‑kilometre motorcycle rally that will journey to Gujarat. The event is part of a nationwide campaign to educate the public about the dangers of drug abuse. Riders, equipped with safety gear and informational pamphlets, will stop at key towns and villages to engage with local communities.
The rally is expected to cover major highways, allowing the police to reach remote areas that often lack access to drug‑prevention resources. Police spokespersons said the initiative aims to foster dialogue between law‑enforcement agencies and citizens.
Tripura Police has partnered with state health departments and NGOs to provide free counseling and testing at several checkpoints along the route. The rally is scheduled to conclude in Gujarat within a month, after which the riders will return to Tripura.
Officials emphasized that the journey is a symbolic gesture to underline the seriousness of drug abuse and to encourage collective action against the menace.
