Tripura police will deploy over 10,000 personnel to safeguard Durga Puja festivities and has announced a green corridor to ease crowd movement.
Tripura police announced that more than 10,000 personnel will be mobilised across the state to ensure security during the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations. The deployment covers police officers, auxiliary forces and volunteer groups, all coordinated with the state administration.
A dedicated "green corridor" will be established along major procession routes to facilitate the smooth movement of devotees and reduce traffic congestion. Officials said the corridor will be monitored continuously and will have priority clearance for festival vehicles.
The decision follows heightened security vigilance in several Indian states after recent incidents during the festival period. The police chief stressed that the safety of worshippers is the top priority and appealed for public cooperation with the security arrangements.
The extensive manpower and logistical support are expected to deter any untoward activity and provide a safe environment for the cultural and religious events associated with Durga Puja in Tripura.
