Tripura government partners with NDDB to boost dairy production and empower farmers

The Tripura government announced a strategic partnership with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to accelerate growth in the state’s dairy industry. Under the agreement, NDDB will provide technical assistance, training and infrastructure support to local dairy cooperatives and individual farmers. The collaboration is expected to raise milk production levels, improve supply chain efficiency and open new market avenues for Tripura’s dairy producers. Officials said the initiative also aims to empower smallholder farmers by enhancing their access to credit, modern equipment and better pricing mechanisms. The partnership reflects the state’s broader agenda to diversify agriculture and increase farmer incomes.

The NDDB team will conduct a series of capacity‑building workshops across districts, focusing on best practices in animal husbandry, feed management and milk processing. State officials anticipate that the combined effort will create a more resilient dairy ecosystem, reducing dependence on imports and strengthening food security.
