The Chief Minister announced that the state government is actively working to position Tripura as a regional education hub.

Kamal Mohan Singh, the Chief Minister of Tripura, told reporters that his administration is undertaking a focused drive to turn the northeastern state into a recognised education hub. He said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to boost human capital and attract students from across the region.
The government plans to upgrade existing colleges, encourage private and public universities to set up campuses, and improve ancillary infrastructure such as hostels, transport and digital connectivity. Skill‑development programmes and industry‑linked courses are also being promoted to align education with local employment needs.
Officials expect that positioning Tripura as an education centre will generate new jobs, retain local talent and stimulate ancillary sectors like housing, retail and tourism. The CM emphasized that the effort will be coordinated with central schemes and private partners to ensure sustainable growth.
