The Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Tripura is intensifying its outreach ahead of the upcoming urban local body polls, highlighting the need for improved civic governance.
The CPI(M) state unit in Tripura has launched a focused drive as the schedule for urban local body (ULB) elections draws near. Party officials say the effort is intended to present a clear agenda on civic services and infrastructure.
The campaign will centre on everyday urban issues such as water supply, waste management, street lighting and the efficiency of local administration, aiming to set the party apart from its rivals.
Grassroots workers have been instructed to meet residents in municipal wards, hold discussion meetings and distribute literature that outlines the CPI(M)'s proposals for better urban governance.
