Chief Minister Manik Saha of Tripura has signed a memorandum of understanding with Tata Trusts aimed at fostering grassroots development and creating livelihood opportunities across the state.
Tripura's chief minister, Manik Saha, formally entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tata Trusts on Thursday, outlining a collaborative framework to strengthen grassroots growth in the state. The agreement focuses on launching livelihood initiatives that target rural households, small entrepreneurs, and marginalised communities.
Under the MoU, Tata Trusts will mobilise technical expertise, capacity‑building programmes and financial support to implement skill‑development and income‑generation projects. The partnership is expected to leverage the trust's experience in community development to complement the state government's existing schemes.
State officials said the collaboration will initially concentrate on sectors such as agriculture, handloom, and micro‑enterprise, with a view to creating sustainable employment and reducing poverty. Both parties have pledged regular monitoring and evaluation to ensure that the interventions deliver measurable outcomes.
The signing ceremony, attended by senior officials from the Tripura government and representatives of Tata Trusts, underscored a shared commitment to inclusive development. The MoU marks a significant step for Tripura in attracting private‑sector participation to accelerate its socio‑economic agenda.
