At Travel Mart 2026, investors unveiled projects worth several crore rupees for hotels, resorts and wildlife‑zone facilities across Madhya Pradesh, prompting the chief minister to hail the state’s vast tourism potential.
Bhopal hosted Travel Mart 2026, a platform that brings together tourism developers and state officials. During the exhibition, a series of proposals were presented to channel multi‑crore rupee investments into new hotels, resorts and ancillary facilities spanning from Sihoor to Ujjain, Mandsaur and the state’s wildlife corridors.
The proposals aim to upgrade existing infrastructure and create premium accommodation options that cater to both domestic and international tourists. Delegates highlighted opportunities in eco‑tourism, adventure sports and heritage circuits, aligning with Madhya Pradesh’s strategy to diversify its tourism portfolio.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, addressing the gathering, emphasized that the state’s natural and cultural assets offer “unlimited potential” for growth. He urged investors to capitalize on the favourable policy environment and the government’s commitment to streamline clearances for tourism projects.
State tourism officials said the investment pipeline, if realised, could generate significant employment and boost ancillary sectors such as transport, food services and local crafts. The event concluded with a call for swift implementation to meet the state’s target of positioning Madhya Pradesh among India’s top tourist destinations.
